Description
High Sensitivity Panel Components
Includes 6 tests
VAP Lipid Profile
Vertical auto profile (VAP) can identify patients at high risk for heart disease who might not otherwise be identified using the standard lipid panel. This is because it measures additional lipoprotein classes, such as Lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)), intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL), and subclasses of HDL, LDL, and VLDL.
(CBC) Complete Blood Count
This is a routine screening test that measures the concentration of white blood cells (leukocytes), red blood cells (erythrocytes), and platelets (thrombocytes). This test is used to evaluate a patient’s overall health and is also useful in diagnosing many disorders, such as anemia, infections, and leukemia.
(CMP) Complete Metabolic Panel
This is a routine screening test comprised of 14 chemistries. It is used to evaluate the function of the liver and kidneys, glucose and protein levels in the blood, as well as fluid and electrolyte balance.
(CRP) High Sensitivity, Cardiac C-Reactive Protein
CRP is produced during the body’s general process of inflammation. Increased levels of CRP can indicate inflammation of the arteries, which has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, heart attack, stroke, and peripheral arterial disease.
Homocystine
Homocystine is one of the 20 amino acids. Increased levels of homocystine in the blood has been linked to increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and blood clots.
Lipoprotein (a):
Elevated levels of lipoprotein(a) is a risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke (CVA) and peripheral vascular disease (PVD or PAD).
